City Pork LSU: Reviews & Ratings
I wrote a bad review for this place years ago. Then they revamped the menu. Their shrimp salad and Cuban sandwich are wonderful. They've really turned the menu around and I had to amend my review because they won me over! Great lunch on campus Right now they're working in a small space while their original location is undergoing construction, so it can get hectic in there fast.
Food was good a big pork sandwich and ice coffee. The atmosphere was good just tables were not clean at all.
I love getting iced chai tigers from this place! Today I went in to get my usual pick me up and the worker who was taking my order recommended pumpkin spice chai tiger this time. It's such a great drink. Thank you (:
I think this is the nicest place to eat on the LSU campus! The restaurant is really cute and offers a great selection of charcuterie like their other locations. I had the nachos for lunch one day. They were really tasty, but way too greasy. The dish was greasy pulled pork served over homemade potato chips, which were also greasy, with cheese on top. I’ll stick to a pulled pork sandwich or charcuterie plate next time. The coffee selections are delicious and the staff have been friendly and helpful. I’d recommend this place for a coffee break to anyone, but watch the price on the food. It is a bit steep for a college campus. Maybe if you eat there you can save half for later. There is certainly enough food in each dish to do that.

Once receiving mixed feedback, the brand has revamped its menu and now shines with standout offerings like the shrimp salad and the classic Cuban sandwich. These dishes deliver rich, bold flavors that resonate well beyond typical campus fare, showing a clear commitment to quality and taste.
The ambiance, though cozy and inviting, can feel cramped due to ongoing construction, adding a bit of hectic energy during busy hours. Despite this, the atmosphere remains welcoming, especially for casual lunch breaks or coffee catch-ups. Speaking of coffee, City Pork LSU shines with its inventive beverage options. The iced chai tiger, particularly the seasonal pumpkin spice twist, is a delightful pick-me-up that reflects the brand’s attention to creative, well-balanced drinks.
Charcuterie boards and pulled pork sandwiches are other highlights, catering to those craving hearty, satisfying meals. Although the nachos received mixed comments regarding greasiness, the overall quality of the pork dishes—tender, flavorful, and generously portioned—speaks to the kitchen’s strength. The staff’s friendliness and helpfulness add a layer of positive hospitality that elevates the dining experience.
While prices may feel a touch steep for a college setting, the generous servings offer good value, often enough to enjoy more than one meal.
